Early Release Day
Nov. 21st, 2002 03:03 pmWell, 30 minitues after getting to work, the lights go out. Although other buildings were on around us, our building was down - except for the phones. So, as we wait, unable to accomplish anything.
Later, we allow everyone to take a long lunch, since we can't get an answer from building management about the power availability. As I'm management, I have to go running around making sure that all critical buisness aspects are covered. The Austin office takes over the calls and we're able to take a couple of buisness critical items over to the other building.
So, higher ups in the company let all of the building go home, but forget to tell our department. Everyone's gone to lunch, and we have to tell them all that they don't need to come back. So damn annoying. And there was only one elevator running!
This only means more work tomorrow. Now I'm trying to decide what I should be doing with this free time!
