It's alive...ALIVE
Mar. 6th, 2003 09:01 amYep, I'm writing from the new iMac. It's up, running and FAST. Now I have two computers on my desk and my laptop is off in the other room. I will have to transfer a lot of files to make it like "home".
I pulled it out of the box as I was waiting for my laundy to get done, so I didn't get to do too much configuring yet, but luckily, with the wireless network, setting up to get on the internet was a snap.
Now I have two things to do. I need to name the new computer. The old iMac is known as Channel Z, named after the B-52's song from Cosmic Thing - "Gettin' Nothing but Static, Gettin' Nothing but Static, on Channel Z..."
The new computer's name is up for grabs right now.
Also, once old Channel Z is decommissioned, I'll have to find a place/use for it. I've been thinking of giving it over to the fraternity boys and girls, as their old Power Mac 650 is way past it's prime. I remember going to buy that old monster!
With that being said, it's poll time!

And that's the beauty of the Mac. The OS is powerful enough to get a lot of interest from the really big geeks, like me, who like Unix. Yet simple enough for people who don't want to deal with all that stuff. It's rare to find something both powerful AND userfriendly. Linux is still trying to do it. Microsoft is still trying. But Apple's got it right now. Congrats!
