I spent the weekend in Dallas visiting Chris ([livejournal.com profile] f__k) and enjoying the events surrounding Matty's([livejournal.com profile] mattycub) birthday. Of course Matty's 30th birthday is today, or what's left of it.

When I got to Dallas at 11:30 Friday night I knocked on Matty's door and was greeted by Kevin ([livejournal.com profile] kev_bot) who surprised me. I expected to see Jay ([livejournal.com profile] jaybear), Kenny ([livejournal.com profile] kennydoug71) and Cameron and or course Matty's boys, Sean and Jeff ([livejournal.com profile] zombietruckstop and [livejournal.com profile] jeffbear63) who had surprised him earlier by coming into town a day early. Of course I was also surprised to see Will ([livejournal.com profile] sunflower1969), who I didn't suspect would be there at all! We spent time talking and playing a game of Time's Up or whatever it's called. We spent an awful lot of time talking about TV's Pat O'Brien and his weird come on phone sex. Just for that, here's a crazy Pat O'Brien-Rosie O'Donnell mash-up! Try to get that out of your head!

We didn't get to sleep until four am, and Chris had to go off to softball practice in the morning. I sat there and got frustrated with the computer trying to make covers for the Austin City Limits Festival CDs that I made for the guys who were in town who would be joining us in September for the event. Once again it was Chris to the rescue when I couldn't get the POS Roxio software to work. iTunes needs to have better CD cover art creation software built in.

After a brunch at Benedict's where Alex ([livejournal.com profile] darke) and Paul joined us ([livejournal.com profile] barecub), we ran out to Zeus for CAPE, Richard's ([livejournal.com profile] dedagda) bug Free Comic Book Day event. He had a ton of different artists and writers at the store, or to be more correct, out in a tent. Some of them were actually cute, too - as well as some patrons! The one person I was interested in meeting was RK "Randy" Milholand, the creator of Something Positive, the web comic that a lot of us read here. I spoke to him after most everyone else had gone through his line, and most of the bears - about ten of us, were still out in the parking lot in sight of Randy. I said to Randy that we were a group that followed his strip from LJ and if he knows LJ we could be one of two groups, 14-year-old girls or Gay Bears. "You got the gay bears." He laughed and was glad to know we were out there. a nice guy.

After a stop over at Crossroads and back to Matty's place, we then went out to Dave and Busters for the big time. It was a good time and a good meal that was topped with the cake that featured a picture of matty making out with his "third boyfriend" the ironing board. He was shirtless, giving the ironing board full tongue action, but the ironing board's expression seemed kind of wooden. It was said that after the night of passion the ironing board retreated back into the closet.

We played videogames into the late night and Matty and Chris played several games of Dance Dance Revolution. they were decent at the beginner levels, but there were a couple of geeky guys there who looked like they lived at the machine. they seemed to know every move and drew crowds each time they danced. Still, as Sean put it later, at least Matty and Chris didn't go home after a long, lonely night of DDR and masturbate into a sock. Ouch.

Since Chris still had the possibility to play softball on Sunday morning we had to bow out, sadly, of playing Doorway to Hatred. Still, a big storm rolled in and rained out the games. It was nice to have the extra time with Chris that morning since we just don't get that much time together. Let's hear it for rainouts.

Otherwise we returned to the pack over at Matty's where it was a lazy afternoon that turned into a TV night with Richard and Chris ([livejournal.com profile] amboy00) coming over. It was fun as everyone repeated along "You are still in the running (pause) to becoming America's Next Top Model" in the same robotic Tyra voice.

Otherwise, it was packing up, kissing the boyfriend and back to Houston, calling my mother along the way home. I hope the rest of Matty's birthday has gone well, and I get to see everyone else soon.

Tomorrow night is the season finale of the amazing Race, which I'll be watching with Jerry ([livejournal.com profile] goofycubb). i can't wait!
