What's next? Barney?
Oct. 13th, 2003 09:11 amSo Tivo seems to think that since I've added a season pass for Teen Titans, Duck Dodgers, Sealab 2021, Justice Leauge and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, that I'm a child. This morning it tried to record the entire PBS children's lineup. Teletubbies. Thumbs Down, Thumbs Down, Thumbs Down.
Tivo seems to be confused by me. Putting in Friends, Queer Eye, Carnivale, Taken and other shows haven't seemed to sway Tivo not only from thinking I'm a kid, but also that I want to see every Do-It-Yourself show ever made.
I guess it's OK, Tivo hasn't figured out I'm G-A-Y!
The weekend was a dull one. I had to work Saturday, and I was entirely unproductive - no surprise there. The Saturday shift is a way to mop up, and get a head start on the new week. I have to babysit the part timers on saturday about twice a year. Last year we had 25 part timers. last time i did the shift we had 15. Last weekend, 3. there's not much that 3 people were going to get done.
I went out with Dave, the guy I had the date with several months ago Saturday night and even ate at Pei Wei - the fast food P. F. Chang's thing. I'm really trying to learn what to order at Asian restaurants so I won't be the guy preventing everyone else from eating Chinese when they want it. Consider it me trying to keep an open mind...
Otherwise it was me trying to keep up with all of my Tivo'ed shows and just taking it easy this weekend. I'm finding these quiet weekends to be a bit unsatisfying, and I just get a larger sense of loneliness, knowing that the people I want to be with, like Chris, are elsewhere.
Oh well, I can't get rid of this cold, that has been cutting into my sleep at night, so I'll probably snooze out during my conference call this afternoon. That will look good, I'm sure.
I also need to get back into the gym tonight.

Date: 2003-10-13 07:14 am (UTC)Drop some Judy Garland and musicals into the recording mix--or episodes of The Golden Girls and Designing Women into the mix. It'll eventually pick up on it. Sometimes, technology needs a little helping hand there. ;X)

I've learned to use more than one thumbs down pretty sparingly. This was a tip from the Tivo Forum.

Date: 2003-10-13 08:19 am (UTC)Either that, or the echinacea-and-NyQuil highballs I was tossing back. Something to be said for homeopathy meeting drugged unconsciousness.
I tried to put my "homebuilt" DVR (I called it "teevo" ;) ) into production this weekend and it fell all over itself. Funny how moving a computer 10 feet caused it to behave completely differently.
