When I was a kid and looked at this bridge many a time while on the T, I often referred to it as the Salt & Pepper Shaker Bridge. Now, it looks a little more, ahem, male.
The bridge you see is sometimes called the Salt-and-Pepper Shaker bridge, because of the shape of the towers. About 5-7 yrs ago there was a city-wide 'scandal' because someone was splatting the sides of the towers with multi-colored splashes of paint, similar to how a paint ball would leave a mark - only lots bigger. People faught to keep the paint on the towers because it brought a spark of color to the otherwise gray, drab and dreary edifice.
