Interesting information not only about a Chicago high school that chose a Jock and a Cheerleader to be homecoming king and queen, but also about the guy who opposes them...well, at least one of them.

Channel 5 in Chicago covered the story of the high school that picked a gay boy (the cheerleader), and a lesbian (the jock) and interviews one of those family values creeps to act as a counter-balance to a story of acceptance. interesting how he doesn't have much to say about the lesbian, it's only the young gay boy that's pointed out.

Still, it's an interesting world, no?

Thirty miles out would still be Chicago to me. Chicago-area if you must.

Yes, it's cool that school administrators are making schools a place where children can come out. They can't always control how other kids will treat them, but to have a faculty member there who's helpful and open on gay issues? Man, I wouldn't ever think that would happen. It's amazing.

Then there's groups like that "Family" organization who will try to run for the school board to try to stop that open situation. It's the older generation that doesn't get it, and is hoping to stop things - but perhaps it's too late.
