I'm still dealing with the fact that the dryers in my complex don't work.

I'm trying to dry a pair of still-damp socks in the microwave.

It's more labor intensive, but try using your hair blower ( if you have one). Just hold the sock opening over the nozzle of the blower. This only works if the socks are slightly damp. I use a hair blower on my hair once every two weeks...but they are so good for so many things.

Yes, that would be good, if I had one. I haven't used a blow dryer since the 70's.

Houston's generally humid, so nothing dries easily here.

I'd jump down your management's throat and make them fix them :)

Exactly! That one's taken care of.
Still, they contract out to a service, if you can truly call it that, that administers the machines. Don't know when they'll be fixed.

Get one of those air racks so you can air dry stuff: thats what my roommate and I use a lot, since the complex here installed a new "working" dryer that doesn't dry very well either.

That's a consideration. I'll have to drop by Target for one. Thanks!

I agree with David, but in the meantime you can turn down the heat, turn on the oven, and put your socks on the slightly open door. We did that in the winter (clean ones only) when I was a kid. Made em nice and warm...mmmm!

You never learn these little tricks in an area that doesn't get snow. I'll try that tomorrow.
