I put up the Chistmas lights on the balcony last night, with the photelectric cell so the go on and off by themselves. It's nice, but the people in the apartment below me have decided to do the incredible blaze of white mini-lights, while I have stuck with one string of simple, old-fashoned, multi-colored ceramic lightbulbs. Oh well, sometimes less is more. I'll try to resist the urge of getting another strand of lights and going overboard.

After looking at the lights, I walked over to Walgreens to pick up yet another remedy for the recent troubles, and decided to put pride behind me and pick up the only over-the-counter muscle relaxant I knew of, Midol. Lo and behold, there on the box it actually says its good for for backaches. Why did I not know this? I'm trying to resist becoming Molly Ringwald's sister in Sixteen Candles right now, but I do need to go to work. I see my doctor on Monday and will get proper treatment then.

I will miss the company Christmas party this weekend. This year, after having last year's party at a rather empty Toyota Center, the new basketball arena, it will be at Enron Minute Maid Field. since we sponsor sports teams, we get cheaper rates on using the stadiums for the holiday parties. I know I won't miss much. Last year's party was completely borning, and the band was horrible.

The team is planning a holiday get-together, and were making a point of having spouses there. This was making me a little sad because I knew there wasn;t much of a chance of geting Chris there. Not for a small team thing. Maybe for the company party someday. I wouldn't mind being able to introduce him to people and be able to say, yeah, here's the guy I run off to Dallas all the time for, or keep looking for jobs in Dallas for.

Still, I'll be in Dallas supporting him at the TCC concert, also important.

I'm glad I just figured out I've been wearing my shirt inside-out for the last thirty minutes. No wonder I was confused that I didn't have a pocket for my cell phone after Paul ([livejournal.com profile] barecub) called. Well, i caught it before i went outside!
