The Weekend That Was
Dec. 6th, 2004 06:44 pmI guess it's the short version, before I hit the road back to Houston. I'll throw some details in later.
It's been a quiet weekend, but a busy one at the same time. Christmas has encroached on our time, with Chris' Turtle Creek concert, which was great. He was all dolled up in a tutu, dancing away with several other bears in a number titled "Tromp of the Sugar Plum Fairies" It's quite a sight.
The show itself is quite a trip, with lots of different moods, from funny to poignant, really capturing the spirit of the holidays, and it's funny how many of the TCC guys I'm getting to know.
Speaking of TCC guys, Michael (
mrh745i) had as his guest Bob (
aries470) here in Dallas for the weekend, and as Chris and Michael had to be in the Myerson early to prep for the concert, we ran off for a great dinner and conversation prior to the show. It was great to meet Bob and make a new friend.
Otherwise, there was a party where Chris and I were surprisingly social. Go fig. We went in thinking that there was going to be very few people there that we would actually connect with, but it was a pretty eclectic group, and a lot of fun. It didn't hurt that Little John from TCC was there, shyly standing in a corner when we arrived, just waiting to be talked to. Here I am to save the day (and he to save mine, as I was happy to see someone I knew as well)!
So lastly, today I finally saw my doc, and he sent me off for some meds, suspecting a pinched nerve. He also made me go off for a MRI, which the only time they had to schedule me in was noon, killing off my lunch with Chris. I was mad, and even more un happy with having to lie still on that hard table for an hour! Ugh! Still, hopefully we'll get fixed up. Sunday was a good back day, but today has been a little more off.
It's been raining. Should make a fun drive back home.
