Yukon Corniness
Dec. 2nd, 2004 09:24 pmLast night CBS showed Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for the 40th time. Wow, 40, that's pretty old for a holiday special. Rudolph doesn't look a day over being a one point buck. Still, the DVD has more footage that's been cut since they run many more commercials than they did in 1964.
Still, the fun is when Yukon Cornelius comes on screen. One of the earliest bear icons on television, or in puppet animation. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that he's a redhead. If they ever did a "Lion King" thing, and brought it to Broadway, then I could see a certain LJ'er in the Yukon role, if he didn't loath musical theater so much.
Well, the folks at Build-a-Bear now let you make a Yukon of your very own...

He looks a little skinny, really. Looks like it's been a bad hunting season up around the North Pole this year.
Of course I have a little plastic action figure yukon that I got at Zeus last year who's a little more chubby.
Still, I'm a little interested to go make one of these, because at build-a-bear you have to stuff your bear, or in this case, your Yukon. The stuffing, or "fluff' as they call it, shoots out of a tube. I'm curious if you get to stuff your tube up Yukon's butt in order to shoot him full of fluff.
Maybe I need a pastime.
That also reminds me I need to get going on my Christmas card list...
