Life has been on the dull side the last couple of days. I've been in countless meetings for countless different reasons, with very few of them having anything constructive. Total Dilbert land. Of course there was the utterly useless training session last week that was meant for a different department, but we were forced to go. Seven hours of wasted productivity.

I'm struggling with motivation (my reps, and my own) at work (and yes, I do appreciate getting a paycheck, and it's nice that I can get one without putting out too much effort these last couple of weeks). It's hard to have to demand all of our staff work 10 hours each day, instead of the normal 7.5. We've been so backlogged, but we can barley tread water; the work keeps piling up.

And the upper management is demanding another mandatory Saturday. Ha! already made plans! See-ya suckers!

Here's the biggest problem with the prolonged hours, People run down. They need breaks. The extra 2.5 hours are generally wasted time. They are the least productive hours you could have. People get tired, angry and in our teams case, downright goofy. Yesterday we spent the most of the 6 o'clock hour playing with the phones, calling and hanging up on people (internally) before the caller ID picked up who had done it.

If this isn't the best way to spend the company's dollars, please, someone inform me.

Given that the money that pays our salaries comes from fees imposed on those who invest with us...are you ever going to invest again? Remember where your money's going.

In a somewhat unrelated note, just to do something different today, I opted for the CHOCOLATE Milk. Mmmm.
