Two Things that Should be April Fools Jokes, but aren't.

First, from me, the dangerously obsessed with the now diminishing Schiavo story guy, via Wonkette, comes a story from the northern reaches of Michigan. Yep, the crazy Michigan Militia was actually looking for supporters to go into Florida and "rescue" Terri Schiavo. Of course they had a few problems like needing medical professionals, support from the family, a plan...

The militia's leader linked the wish to send a group of thousands who would rise up and, in an act of "civil disobedience" kidnap Schiavo to the Martin Luther King Jr. March on Washington of the 1960's. Personally, I don't quite get the connection.

Yes, it's plush microbes. What's the perfect gift for the child in your life? Giant representations of common (and somewhat uncommon) maladies that are huggable, and loveable. Personally, I just want kids to have to explain to unknowing adults what there stuffed animal is.

"What do you have there little girl?" "Epstein-Barr!" "And the other one?" "Oh, that's Hepatitis!" Hilarity ensues.

i'm surprised that the HIV virus chooses to wear a red ribbon in solidarity with raising awareness and helping stop the spread of HIV.

Good intentions by the makers, but is rather tacky.
