I don't think there is anything wrong asking where a relationship is going(or what the other person has in mind), particularly in a long distance relationship. I think it's easier to get hurt if you go on blindly without discussing what the other person is trying to get out of it. Y'know you're thinking LTR the other guy's thinking about just havin fun. Anyhow I'd give him a couple of days to respond back. He shouldn't be offended or turned off by your question(I know I wouldn't)
