Over the weekend, it was 80 degrees, tonight it's 30 and snowing. Snowing in March? What kind of crazy is this?

If it's crazy, it must be primary season here in Texas. I'll admit, I am so glad this will wrap up in another couple of days (including fallout. I early voted a week ago, but because in the 1990's, assisted by Bill clinton, who helped come up with these crazy rules, I have to go out to my polling place tomorrow night to caucus. Yes, to fully be counted, you have to vote in the primary and caucus. Vote early and often!

I've already voted for Barak Obama, just like I said I would back in January, and I will be out at the local elementary school tomorrow night. I was a casual supporter back in January, but as we've gotten closer and closer to the actual primary here, I find I must support Obama. I'm not making calls or anything, but I have to do what I can to keep Hilary Clinton from winning Texas.

It's not easy. she has plenty of supporters, and unlike me they seem to me be long time Democrats that are so angry at the last seven years that they must try to put the most divisive and polarizing candidate up for the nomination. I don't think it's about real credentials...but just the attempt to give the Republicans a big "fuck you" this November.

Personally, that's why I can't vote for Clinton. I've seen her, and I don't like her. I don't like how she handles herself and her campaign. She arrogantly expected to be coronated like the rich girl running for prom queen, and after Super Tuesday had no real plan for the next month. The Obama campaign caught her with her pants down, and they took the momentum from here. Now she's running a campaign where she's become disparate. The strategy now is to throw everything at him, including the kitchen sink.

I want to have the country move away from partisan politics. I hope people can work together, but I am smart enough to know that a president, any president can't do that, but it's a start. Obama to me really does symbolize hope and a change to politics as they are today. With all the hope that his campaign throws out as slogans and speeches, there really is substance and reason to back it up. There's less of the idea that government should save you, but should work with you, and I like that.

I'm not a Democrat, and I'm no longer a Republican, as I was in my youth before I knew better. I don't want to play these stupid partisan games anymore. I think there needs to be a thorough cleaning of both parties out of office. The Congress is more worried about looking good and getting re-elected than actually acting on the difficult issues of today. I need more work on Social Security solvency than I need to have grandstanding hearings about millionaire baseball players taking steroids.

I especially believe that we need to wipe out all of the Republican presence from the Executive Branch and try to restore some balance on the Supreme Court. Too much damage has been done by this administration to allow more Republicans to continue thier partisan power grab, and we must rebalance the balance of powers, taking away from the Bush administration's attempt to create an imperial presidency. Because of this I cannot vote for McCain, a man I liked much better than G. W. Bush back in 2000.

I feel that I must vote for the Democratic candidate this November, but I'd rather vote for Obama, a candidate I'd feel proud of, and can support rather than having to hold my nose and vote for Hillary. It's the same exact feeling I had voting for Kerry in 2004. I didn't like him, but I had to do what I could to end the Bush years early. So much for that.

I feel that Hillary would go down in flames for the general election, much like Kerry, and Kerry didn't have half the negatives Hillary does. Even Rush Limbaugh knows it, asking Republicans to go and vote for Hillary to help McCain's chances this fall.

I'm tired of ads, whether they come from the right or the left that only say you should vote for me because the boogeyman is out there. At 3 AM, 9-11 or whenever. If the boogeyman is out there, what are you really doing about the situation? are you making our country more vulnerable with the same saber-rattling? Are you actually trying to work with people around the country and around the world to try to make the world a better place, defusing the hate? I'm tired of political statements based on terrorists, prisoners and gays - all of those groups out there trying to ruin your day. Why can't it be about trying to improve the planet, not trying to do nothing so you can run the same 9-11 fear-mongering campaign two years later?

I want a new start. I want to move away from the politics and policies that the baby boomers have given us and move on. There's so many problems to work on, so many things that we need to move forward on, really, isn't it time to take a chance and do something different? Isn't it time to, if nothing else, clean the catbox and make it fresh?

It will be cold tomorrow, but tolerable. The snow will be gone, and tomorrow night I'm going to walk over to the elementary school and try to make myself count, and to vote for a fresh start. Hopefully I'll be able to carry that feeling forward with me into November. What a thought - actually WANTING to vote for someone instead of making it the choice between the least of two evils.

Tomorrow's vote could easily go either way. The candidates are neck and neck, and I'd say that Hillary seems to be getting more coverage of late. I'm sure there will be sympathy for her as all the stories have been about her loosing and should she call it quits. In ways, I can understand why some people wish to vote for her. I think the reasons to vote for Obama totally outweigh the reasons to vote for her - especially as their policies are almost identical. The difference is how the message is delivered, and how I think Obama will carry himself as president.

Oh well, time to go out in the flurries and go workout so I'm ready to walk for Obama tomorrow. Here's hoping it will be a good day!

I gotta laugh about the snow. As long as it doesn't do that in a few weeks

The snow will be over before noon tomorrow, and it's supposed to be 70 degrees by the weekend. It's wild weather though.

Of course we usually do have a cold snap at Easter, and since that coincides with TBRU this year...well, it could be 40.

You never know around here. It was beautiful on Saturday, but lousy tonight. It also depends on what you consider cold. 40 degrees is cold to me, but I'm sure Chicagoans would laugh at that. Not to say what Montanans would think.

It really doesn't surprise me, actually. It comes out of the deepest parts of the party machinery on both sides of the fence. Obama hadn't been in the sights until the last month, though, as everyone had expected Hillary to win. I'd rather get a lot of this trash over now, though, then have it come up in the national race a few months down the road. There's much more time to react.

Of course he does need to react, and not let it fester like Kerry did with the Swift Boat crap that totally realigned his campaign. How does a army veteran come off as less honorable than a drunken frat boy who avoided the war?

Oh I voted already on the 29th. As soon as I saw that 3 AM commercial I responded by going down the street to the early voting place and voting for Obama.

The Second Step of the Texas Two-Step

It is crucial toward the delegate count to make it back out this evening for the caucus and support your candidate.

Caucus attendees and who they declare their support for will directly effect delegates elected and who those delegates represent.

Yep, I've read up on this crazy process and made the decision to go out tonight and finish the process tonight. I don't know who the hell thought this up - but I do know that Bill Clinton was a part of the committee who endorsed it.

I'd rather cock-us, than caucus, though!

Wimps!!! It's still at least 2 1/2 months until the end of the possible snow season here. Put on some long pants and get out and vote! LOL

Long pants, jackets and all that other stuff. You have to be prepared here.

The snowfall was nice last night, but I'm glad it's 50 degrees tonight.
