On a different note...first, happy birthday to Alex, [livejournal.com profile] darke, as well.

I played the Valentine's Day game as did 3742 other people on LJ. If they filled out all 5 spots, that means there were 18,710 attempts to match. Of those attempts, 705 matches were made. That's a success rate of about 3 percent. (my math skills are damn poor, so this could be way off)

...and I GOT A MATCH!

*does Snoopy's happy dance*

I feel as happy as Ralph Wiggum receiving the "I choo-choo-chose you!" card from Lisa!

Actually, I think most people didn't know about the jump to 5 people from 3 so the odds were probably a little bit better too. Congrats tho!

You're right. I think most people signed in with 3. I for some reason saw it was 5 last evening, and went to add, but to no avail.

Still, I'm a bit shocked and overwhelmed, even if it is a silly little match game.

WOOO HOOO, you got a match, that's awesome! I have read several journals today and it seems most people did not get a match at all.

Yeah, I didn't know about the 5. Wonder if you can still add since it is within the day. I doubt it.

Thanks Mark, You got a good match with out the database.

It's nice in a "hey, you're cute" way that there is about it!

I happened to see someone post about the limit raise right before I went to bed. I would have missed it otherwise. Still only got 1 match anyway and it's been invalidated.

Buck up buddy, it's only a silly game, not real life. While I like my match, and I'd like to know him better (he'll have to reveal himself, I never know whether or not I should) I'm not going to put a lot of stock into this excersise. Perhaps real life will be better.

who's "Ralph Wiggum"

Okay, maybe this shows my limited knowledge here Mike, but who the heck is "Ralph Wiggum"?
Could you give me a clue, because this is one I don't have.
Thanks,
Ed

Check the Simpsons, Ed. He's the mentally-challenged, paste eating son of Police Chief Wiggum. There's an episode about Valentines Day. Where he gets attached to Lisa after she gives his a simple Valentine at school.
