First, a happy, belated birthday wish to [livejournal.com profile] bigrock, one of the first persons I knew was on LJ.

Today begins the 12 days of hell. Twelve days straight of work. The fact that we could be totally screwed by moving to the new system (at least for the first few weeks), just makes it all the better.

I need to update the resume, and possibly post it to Monster, and such. Just in case.

Shower heads should be placed from the wall, towards you. No exceptions.

I love Houston, but heading to other cities always makes me wish Houston had more attractions. I always find myself having problems telling people what to do in Houston. This town's attractions are more secretive and mundane. There's no great tower, or stunning historical artifact. It's not a capitol or historically significant. Still, it's a nice city to live in, with good people, and a general can-do attitude. There's no big issues dividing the city, and nobody riots in the unlikely event that one of our sports teams would actually win a championship.

Number of LJ'er's met in person, 8. I'll see if I can make it 9 over lunch today.

Yes, Aqualad is a puss, but Robin giving the top twenty countdown is still funny. "Hey, Penguin, here's your long distance bat-a-rang and dedication."

Creative writing. This isn't it. Off to work.

Yes, the Rockets are Houston's exception to our perpetual losing streak. The Astros, and the not-so lamented Oilers both got close, but never to the finish. The rockets, and the Comets, to a lesser degree win and the City goes out and parties, and buys overly priced merchandise. No overturned cars. No smashed windows. Hell, I remember the Oilers losing in the AFC championship game back in the '70's, and they have a big pep rally in the Dome.

Friendly City, this one.

Portland is the same way. I want there to be some great, fun attraction that I can tell people about but there really isnt one here in town. Its a wonderful place but not in a touristy way. Everybody talks about how they have heard it is a great place, but nobody actually comes here.
