eggwardsGovernor Arnold doesn't have the muscles to flex to sign the recently passed California Marriage Equality Bill? This is no surprise, he's a politician who's wanting to be re-elected by a Republican base. There was no way he was going to sign that. He vetoed it as quickly as he could, mentioning that it should be resolved by judges who are currently looking at the constitutional value of a five year old referendum that restricted marriage to one man and one woman.
Imagine that, the Govenator wants activist judges to do the work that his activist legislature did, but he couldn't be bold enough to do anything himself because of falling poll ratings. Too bad he can't blame another governor.
New iPod phone - a little uninteresting. So I should move 100 songs to my phone and wear down the battery? New iPod nano, cool, but small in storage for me, with some 20+GB of music already in my iPod.
Lego apparently gets very, very huffy is you call their products "Legos". So the plural of Lego is also Lego?
The old Astrodome hasn't had this much attention since it was opened in 1965, or perhaps when it was the host of the "Battle of the Sexes" match with Billie Jean king. You can see some photos of the people in the dome Here and Here. The Houston Chronicle was doing a pretty good job of covering the situation in the dome with it's Dome Blog, but the posts have seemed to trickle down a bit lately.
Still, the volunteers keep coming, even though the evacuees have scattered a bit, looking for jobs and opportunity.
Lastly, there's more South Park coming! New episodes are coming in October.

Date: 2005-09-10 02:27 am (UTC)The reason why it is not "Legos" and instead "Lego blocks or toys" is that by describing it directly as a Lego, it becomes a generalized name. Like a Xerox copy or a Kleenex, etc. And once it becomes generic, anyone can use it.
