First, my sympathies go out to [livejournal.com profile] jtinstc who lost his grandfather early this morning.

A few random notes.

1. When I move into a new place (once my lease runs out in Oct.). I will get a place that has a washer & dryer in it. I hate having to go run down to the laundry room, and paying the $6 it takes to do three loads.

2. With the posts from people who went to Fiesta, I am getting more excited about TRBU. I'll have to make a point of heading to Tucson next year.

3. About a week ago, I put up a fairly deep post, and many people responded positively. I had hoped to respond to many of those that commented, and haven't been able to. I will work to rectify that, soon.

4. I should have gone grocery shopping on Saturday. I'm running out of stuff and haven't had enough free moments to do so. Perhaps tomorrow.

5. As a notice for a rush for my fraternity went across the alumni channels today, I thought about how I came out to a majority of my brothers. Made me think of how that experience went. Some of you may question why I'm so loyal to my fraternity and why these people mean so much to me.

For the younger brothers, they have never known anything else, I've been out (and a little lonely), but for those who were active then, even though I didn't really change (except for some comments about what i found sexy), for some their perception of me changed.
For most of them, they treated me no differently, but I do remember Damon was very negative towards me after that. I was already past president, and I was on my way out the door, but still, it did hurt that he didn't want to talk to me unless he had to.
My best friends already knew, and they were very proud that I had taken that step. It's not that there had never been a gay brother, in fact, before I was initiated, there were so many gay brothers, that it was a joke in the band that the fraternity should be called Gay-Gay-Bi (rather than K-K-Psi). None of these people really helped me with my coming out process, but I did find some favorable notes from a few of them once I did come out.
The whole thing went better than I had thought it would. If I didn't love my brothers before, I really did then. I promise to tell a fuller account of the story soon.

Well, I need to go get my laundry from the dryers...

Thank you

Thanks. It's been a rough day. I've been plowing along through classes and homework. I'm trying to carrying on but yet still cherish the wonderful memories I have of him.

The last time I ever had to rely on public laundry facilities was in 1989. I will never, ever, again live without my own washer and dryer. I refuse!

Yeah, I'm learning my lesson. This was one of my reservations of moving into this complex, and it's been the biggest annoyance (otherwise, pretty good). The complex out here on Westheimer, was built in '72, so there's no plumbing set up for washers anywhere here.

got a load in the washer now, spinning away...and the best part is, I am getting the laundry done, in my apartment, with no noise, no kids running around, no one playing washer bandit, and I am eating my lunch and chatting on the 'net while butt naked and occasionally yanking my dong...ah, living...

It's OK, you don't have to, but it is a little chilly tonight.
