Happy Birthday Jim, [livejournal.com profile] jrjarrett!

Apparently I've given the kennel cough over to Chris ([livejournal.com profile] oakleycub), as I spent the Easter weekend with him. I just might be getting over it now, hopefully. It's really been a bitch, and has kept me rather lethargic over the last few days. I'm still a little stopped up, but not coughing up a lung this morning, so that's progress.

Over the weekend, I found out that apparently it doesn't matter what time you leave for Dallas, there's now always going to be a slowdown between the Woodlands and Conroe on I-45. thanks to the Texas Department of Transportation for making a bad situation even worse. I guess I'll have to look at taking the back roads, even to go to my parents house. It's several miles more around, but al least it's not stop-and-go traffic.

While in Dallas, I saw more or the game The Legend of Zelda:The Wind Walker than I ever thought I would. We also went to Gregg and Michael's 40th birthday party where we saw John ([livejournal.com profile] furrytxcub) strip down to a towel so he could use the in-room sauna in the hotel room the party was in. Kind of an unusual thing to have in the room, but it was a nice hotel.

Chris and I also took Joey out to Lee Park for the Easter celebration. We were way too late for the pet parade, and probably missed most of the people there, but it was nice to be able to take Joey out for a bit. Joey was happy to explore, and was pretty well behaved. She got a little too curious down at Turtle Creek and managed to fall in, so we had a wet dog on our hands for a while. Her pride was hurt for a while, but I guess she recovered OK.

Otherwise, I'm obsessed, sadly, with the Terri Schiavo case. I can manage to avoid the whole Michael Jackson mess, but for some reason I have to know everything about this other set of crazy. It's probably because I'm mad about the erosion of rights and privacy that this one case is causing. There's a post in there, but I've been too lethargic to make it. It's probably too late now. We'll see.

Otherwise, I've been happy that the Broadway channel on Sirius has been greeting Spring with "Springtime for Hitler" from The Producers. Now If I could do some spring Cleaning, things would be good.
