Whitman's Sampler
Feb. 9th, 2005 11:54 pmSince Chris and I won't be together this weekend, i had to think about mailing any Valentine's Day gift I would send him. Of course, Chris is difficult to shop for - probably because I make it difficult, thinking I have to get the "right" thing. Of course, this is coming from overly sappy me, who makes much more out of something like Valentine's day than I probably should.
So, in trying o de-stress myself about it, and in my attempts to be more direct in my life, I asked Chris if there was anything he wanted for Valentine's Day. As expected, he said no, and asked me if I needed anything.
Of course the folly of the question in the first place is that no one really needs anything for Valentines Day, but I did respond with no. I managed to include that I certainly didn't need, "any of the Valentine's staples, Chocolate, cologne or flowers." I think I forgot jewelry, but I'm guessing it was implied, since I don't need a tennis bracelet or anything.
Sure, material goods are nice, and diamonds are a girl's best friend...
I guess it might seem unromantic, but still, there's always media, books CD's and movies, and other things...but really, there's more than just material things to make the day special...we'll just be celebrating a week later, I suppose, when i can make it to see him again.
