Howdy from Austin!
Sep. 18th, 2004 07:16 pmSince you can't get away from the internet, I'm here at Austin City Limits Festival and having a good time. Yes, yesterday was really tough, dealing with the heat, the exposure to the sun, and a schedule that takes you all over the park. Today is a little easier since there isn't a great deal of "must see" bands. (Sorry Miami Chris, Modest Mouses's set was kind of ruined by a poor mix, and crappy speakers).
Otherwise, I wore the kilt yesterday with decent results. It certainly got looks, and I would brand it a success if it wasn't for some late day chaffing. Otherwise, no one was brave enough to try to lift it (I guess seeing the size of the guy wearing it can scare some people away). I did wear it correctly, and yes there are some pictures.
We didn't realize how drained we would be last night. Man it was a long day, and tomorrow looks to be a long one as well, but we've certainly learned some tricks to help us bear the heat, and the crowd. there must be a scary 100,000 people in this park.
I need some tamales and some grape ice right now! Later!
