Not a lot going on down here. We're hitting the summer doldrums where you just don't want to move if you don't have to. I find myself coming home and just laying down for the air-conditioning.
I bought some hot dogs for the All-Star Game, and already I find that I have fulfilled my hot dog quota for the summer.
In work news, I'm struggling to get along with the new boss. Her ideas of my role are very different from my last boss, and she's much more micromanaging (which I hate). she's trying to put me in more of a direct supervisor role, which is too bad when I'm much happier in a project management role.
Our product, the reason for my new group, continues to be delayed, so I'm having to manage a group of seven that don't have a real purpose. We muddle through, working on this or that, but really, there's little to do.
Luckily a change has led to Chatty Matt being moved away from Big Ed. He's much happier. He's also nicely contacted a brother-in-law of his that works at a medical billing group in Dallas about getting my resume in. Hooray! In fact, three people at work have been trying to help me find work in Big D.
Here's a couple of pictures of Big Ed. They've been thrown through a couple of format changes, so they don't look their best, but you get the idea. I hope they show up, because I was having a lot of trouble with the hosting.
