From another perspective...
Jul. 2nd, 2003 09:18 pmI introduced Chris to my friends Hans and Naima on Sunday. Hans and I usually email back and forth during any given workday (since, due to company policy, I can't use instant messenger, or LJ, for that fact). Most time it's idle chatter. This time I asked him what he thought about Chris...
Hans: How is it going?
Michael: Things are decent. I'm trying to get the quality numbers done. What did you guys think of Chris?
Hans: He seems nice. We both liked him. You were glowing just a little.... So what did he think of us?
Michael: A little? Geez. I was giddy all weekend. He likes you two. He commented on really liking Naima's personality. And yes, he is kind of quiet.
Hans: Aren't we all in new environments?
Mike: I guess that's true. I'll admit that my first inclination was to sit apart from Chris. To stay to one side of the loveseat...you know, all the taboos and all. In my mind, though, I said, the heck with it. If I want to put my arm around him, I will.
I hope we didn't freak out Jorge and Christina too much.
Hans: It did not bother us. You know us. We are just glad to see you happy. In fact when you left we both said that "You looked really happy" and we were happy for you. You know the boundaries of good taste as do we. We are not going to go to far in front of you either.
Michael: Yeah, We kept the big, slobbery kisses from you, but you could have caught that show at the parade if you wanted to...
I was, and am really happy. I'm still nervous about the whole thing, and a bit unsure of how it's going or where it will end up. I'm trying not to think about it too much. Right now I'm debating running up there for the weekend. We'll see.
Hans: Hey it will all happen I promise. All the things you are unsure about are
part of the fun.
Michael: You think so? I find them nerve-wracking.

And so it goes... So nice that they feel they shouldn't perform PDA's in front of me. Not like I've never seen it before...or kissed a girl, for that fact. It's not that offensive
Of course I totally forgot that my sister was coming to town and is going to crash at my place this weekend with her boyfriend, Ed. That's just fine, as Chris wanted to head out to Mississippi this weekend to visit
standardtom and friends. I really couldn't tag along this weekend. I'm sure I'll get up to Dallas next weekend before I head to Chicago later this month!
