Stolen from
davomatic.
What was the first record you owned?
(single) "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" - B.J. Thomas
(album-vinyl) Probably a Sesame street album, or the "Mary Poppins" soundtrack
(album-cassette) The Police - Synchronicity
(album-compact disc) The Beatles - Hard Day's Night
First Concert? The Police, 1983 at the Summit in Houston. The first time I was alowed to go to Houston without my parents- as I went with a high school friend.
Is there a song that reminds you most of your childhood?
"Summer Breeze" - Seals and Crofts. This used to play constantly in the summer as I was at the swimming pool of the "Skee Lodge" (a country club) on Lake McQueeny, near San Antonio. it was always a treat to go swimming, even though we did it often.
If your life was a movie, what song would play over the following:
Opening credits: "Desparately Wanting" Better Than Ezra
Love Scene: I Drove All Night" Cyndi Lauper or "The Space Between" Dave Matthews Band
Sex Scene: "Where You Get Love" Matthew Sweet
Closing credits: "Falling for the First Time" -Barenaked Ladies
If applicable, name a song or concert that moved you to tears:
(Song): This happens more than I'd like. Most Recently, the Infamous Avril episode, with "I'm With You".
(Concert): never cried at a concert.
Name an Album that is perfect all the way through: Strangely, I rarely find an album that doesn't have it's down song. Something I fast forward over. (I love greatest hits compilations) I'll place John Mayer's "Room for Squares as one of the best, and add to it Coldplay's "Parachutes."
Music you like that could be considered a guilty pleasure: Hey, Hey, we're the Monkees! Love 'em, have all their albums.
If your music collection was about to go up in flames, which 5 CDs would you save?
Barenaked Ladies: "Disk One: Their Greatest Hits"
Better Than Ezra: "Friction, Baby"
The B-52's: "Time Capsule"
The Beatles: "Revolver"
John Mayer: "Room for Squares"
Is there a song that describes you or a situation so well that you could have written it? Nothing is so all-incompassing..many songs have a piece of me...Perhaps "Whatever I Fear" by Toad the Wet Sprocket
Which underrated artist deserves more attention? I still feel that the Barenaked Ladies haven't gotten their due, maybe because they're not big in Texas. I'd add Ben Folds, the Cardigans and XTC. Locally, there was a group in Houston some 10 years ago called The Dishes that I wish would have gone farther (and put a CD out)
Has a song or artist changed your life in any way? I listen to music all the time. It's hard just to make one moment a big deal... Perhaps "This Is The Time" by Billy Joel for a song. Elton john is still one of the most remarkable artists I've heard in my life.
What is your favourite soundtrack? The Music Man, Little Shop of Horrors
What is your all time favourite music video? They show those anymore?
Current favourite radio hit: "The Remedy (Won't Worry My Life Away)" -Jason Mraz
