I've finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the last of the currently published books in the series. I've managed to read them all in the last 9 months, with only a few books in between. Now I have to wait for the next one to be published.

Now on to The DaVinci Code. It's all about depth and great thought of the ages these days. Fine literature will have to wait. Sometimes your just looking for escape.

Still, what's to say about the last couple of days. Saw a little of the Super Bowl, after the 2004 one held in Houston, this one didn't have a chance of being interesting, and even the commercials were dull. Paul McCartney has fine songs, and I love the Beatles, having all of their albums, but this is halftime, not a concert, and there's different expectations. It's a strange thing that the ratings weren't down. Perhaps mediocrity is what we expect in these things.

Also, completely unrelated, and before the end of the day, happy birthday to Brodie, ([livejournal.com profile] nfotxn). 23, ahh, to be so young again.

Very cool... I just started the 5th Harry Potter. I thought the 4th got awesome towards the end, so I'm hoping the 5th keeps up with the pace.

There's a lot of Ministry of Magic intrigue - but I can't tell you what happens. I'm looking forward to the Goblet of Fire movies.

I never read HP. And I probably won't have time to until this Fall.

I think you'll like the DaVinci Code.

DaVinci Code is good, but personally I liked Angels and Demons. (It's also first, chronologically.. although not referenced much in DC.)

Yes, Angels and Demons has already been devoured. I read that one quickly.

I bought Chris the illustrated Code for christmas so I snatched it back for the read after he finished it. I'm guessing that they are pretty separate stories, like Bond novels.

I tended to lean more towards DVC than A&D. A&D was good, don't get me wrong, and yes, it is chronologically first, but you can read them out of order without many issues. If nothing else, then DVC will make you want to read A&D more. :)
