eggwardsI've been writing christmas cards today at a slower pace than I though. At first I thought I hadn't been using any particular method of who I was choosing to write cards to. Last year I was better at trying to start based on distance, treating it like a project to be solved. this year I'm finding I'm doing it on connections, and I'm finding that there's a lot of connections that were stronger in 2003, and either due to the lack of travel budget, or just this or that...I find that time has passes and I'm missing those people now.
Ahh, it's one of those weekends, isn't it?

goofycubb), and introduced him to BW3's, and NTN trivia. I think I've got another one hooked. Afterwards we went out to the Ripcord. Despise it being 10:30 on a Friday, it started out dead, but picked up over the evening.
I saw some people I knew there, and chatted with them, and connected with a few people. I took a couple of chances, and say hello to a couple of people. Go me I guess. In away i wanted to be with people, but in away I was getting tired a was ready to go home. One guy that i thought was interesting at first, the Boston boy who moved to Houston on a whim slowly became really strange when a connection on the odd trivia of the 80's TV show Square Pegs became freaky strange when he wouldn't get off the subject of it. He wouldn't leave me alone, talking to me for 45 minutes about a show that only ran for one season.
I decide to go home when Jerry and David, the guy he was interested in moved on to the Montrose Mining Company around 1:00, and the Bostonian seemed attached to me. I was tired. Still, I kind of lamented that I didn't take a chance on talking to the guy with the great, thick beard that I wanted to run my fingers through. That's the trouble of not being more outgoing, and not being able to do party style mingling. You get yourself trapped.
I still have a desire to run my fingers through a beard other than my own tonight. Grr. I'm not so sure I'm going to get out of the house other than to grab something to eat. It's just one of those nights. It's not that I'm looking for something carnal, just to be held and hugged on a cool evening. We could all use that, right?

Date: 2004-12-12 11:26 am (UTC)We have NTN provided in home through Time Warner digital cable. It's pretty cool. But I'm surprised how dumb other people I play against are. I don't consider myself to be all that smart, but I'm always able to win by several thousand points. I'm not sure if I'm only playing other people at their homes or if it's associated with business'.
