A few good things in my life:

Bowling for Soup's song 1985. Sure, it's a repetitive little pop song, but that's also the year I graduated high school (Old? Check.). I keep wondering with every reference to "music still on MTV" in songs, movies, etc. if someone over at MTV ever gets the message? Hell, MTV2 doesn't even show videos, not that I'd watch much of what they'd program. Yeah, I'll grow tired of 1985 pretty soon, but for now...

I manage to pay my bills. The credit card is filling up a bit, but it's manageable.

I came in third in our LJ Bear Baseball fantasy league, but dang it I won the league at work! Hooray! I seem to be holding my own in the football leagues too, though I know baseball way better.

Speaking of baseball, there's at least a week more of Astros baseball in the playoffs!

I think I'll end up at Chipotle again today. Mmm. I've been procrastinating from a big grocery shopping trip.

Listening to Larry ([livejournal.com profile] lfkbear) and his ex on the radio is fun. Lots of bear talk.

Fall weather seems to be here. Please no more 90 degree temperatures! Of course, it will probably by 90 on Thanksgiving.

I can look for jobs after work, on my work computer. They block a lot of things, like LJ, but they do keep Monster and Hot Jobs open. Surprising.

I'm looking forward to next weekend in Dallas! The trip to the Texas Renaissance festival will have to happen soon, what's better, the weekend of the 16th, 23, or closing weekend, November 13th?

I've got friends scattered all over the place, and some of them even welcome your 3am call! (It's 3am I must be lonely...)

Despite my anxieties, which I'm starting to do research on, I am loved.

Most employers leave Monster and Hot Jobs open for three reasons.

1) HR needs them.
2) Managers can go and see if any of the employees are listed.
3) They can claim that they are providing "retraining" resources in the event of a layoff. (And thus, since the employee didn't take advantage of it, it isn't their fault.)

Interesting, hadn't thought of it that way.

Hey, I will be in Dallas this weekend, late Friday night, going back on Sunday night!

Very cool. I'm trying to figure out who is around when and trying to see how it works for folks.

Hell, one of them even anticipates your 3 AM calls. :-P Which was quite odd to have happen, but no less welcomed for it.

It's fun. I work overnights at a station and it helps energize me into staying awake. Lots of cutesy pop culture refs from the 80s...

"she was gonna shake her ass on Whitesnake's car..."
"... and who's that new guy singin' in Van Halen?"
