Alright guys (and the few women on my list), who knows baseball?

The season is quickly approaching and it's time to get ready for Fantasy Baseball. I'm playing at work again, but Tom (invisiblebear) suggested that we have an LJ Bears League this year. So far I know that we'll be playing on Yahoo Fantasy Sports, because it's the only site that's free, and we are talking about a commitment of games everyday for the next few months.

What I'm interested to see is who will try to draft the "cute boy" team. It's a joke when we have the one girl playing in the work league, but as I was telling my co-worker Zack yesterday, some of the rest of us make decisions that was as well.

Oh well. Leave me a comment if you would like to join the league and we'll get going. I think we're looking for eight to twelve people to get going.

Stereotypical homo here. I know nothing about any sport. I tried a fantasy football leauge last year and I had to have, get this, my SISTERS help me the whole time.

So, no thanks. But, if anyone who IS playing gets into the spirit and gets into a baseball uniform I'd be more than happy to view images. *grin*

Too bad. It's as much luck as it is skill. I'll tell you, a fantasy baseball team does take more effort than a fantasy football team, though. If that scares you, well, there you go.

Otherwise, my old Astros jersey, I outgrew that, but it wasn't sexy anyway. It was one of those double knit, rainbow-colored freak-show things that weren't good on anyone.

i'd do it, as long as it wasn't too crazy complex. espn.com used to have the Baseball Challenge where you just had a fixed amount to spend on a roster of 8 players plus a few pitchers. salaries would fluctuate week to week based on performance. it was perfect. i'm not familiar with yahoo's system. is it full season or can you do two halves?

It's a full season. They don't do the salary thing, but there are many different ways to configure it that the commissioner (which I assume would be eggwards or invisiblebear) could change. The big decisions are rotisserie versus head-to-head, and autodraft versus live draft.

Well, it looks like there is, so it's your job to promote it form your journal. Our groups aren't mutually exclusive, you know!

And it was a good idea. I kind of wanted to do it before.
