I'm getting ready for work, and I'm trying to save some money and not take more expensive frozen foods in to work. I'm actually cooking something.

This isn't anything fancy, it's pasta-in-a-box, sprinkled with recently unfrozen chicken strips. I'm so not the cook. Luckily I don't have a very extensive list of things I'll eat. I don't really have grandiose expectations with my culinary attempts...no foie gras or duck a la orange being made here.

Still, I told Chris that I want to cook for him over Christmas. He's cooked for me a few times, and I think I should return the favor. I haven't said what I'm cooking, and I bet he's worried about it now. Still, I'm willing to have a go at it.

I haven't cooked for others in years, opting to go out to eat mostly. The last time I can recall was trying to have a Thanksgiving pot luck for several of the band folks that couldn't go home when we were all stuck in town because we were in the Thanksgiving day parade here. It wasn't a big success, but hell, we had a good time. This was years ago, and I cooked spaghetti or something. There were turkey slices, but I'm not really equipped to take care of a turkey.

Hell, my mom is already planning the incredible Microwaved Christmas. I sure didn't learn how to cook from her. She says that she's picking up a small turducken roll. Would that be classified as a processed meat?

Chris already asked what I'm microwaving for Christmas. Just wait and see, honey.

Spam and Jello sounds like a winner to me.

Here's my suggestion: Steak Au Poivre. If you want to impress Chris, give this a try. It sounds impressive, tastes great, and is super easy. Plus, you get to light the sauce on fire. What can be better than a flaming piece of meat? (Hmm...that really could have several meanings, now couldn't it)

As long as it's not "Gumbo," I'm sure things will be fine.

Spaghetti! That sounds Mmmmmm good. You can always pick up a Honeybaked ham....or a turkey breast....both save on the time required.

But if you expend too much effort cooking, you'll be exhausted in the evening, which doesn't lead to much romance.

Besides, it's not the food that's important, it's the company.

But you don't have to! Please, people can't always cater to me and my silliness, no matter how much of a Leo I am.

I have to admit...I'm pretty much wowed that Skye has commented on my comment...Everybody's talkin' 'bout her...Quiet legendary and loveable.

And Michael...you must be someone special if people are willing to cater to you. That's quite a compliment.

Yes. Legendary.

You've been mentioned in several journals in nothing but glowing references. Few people can claim that!
