Tell me about it. I very nearly wrote a letter to ours, telling them that I wasn't going to be listening to their station any more, because playing Christmas music for two whole months non-stop is ridiculuous! But I was lazy...
And it was the only '60s-'80s station in town, too. :(
I have been lucky then, as they haven't started playing those folk hymns yet at my work. But, I did hear someone say on the radio that Thankgiving is now just a bump in the road, on the way to Christmas.
Trust me, it's not the only station in town, and I do have CDs and an iPod, so things are taken care of. i just can't believe that outside of a shopping mall, that someone's already playing all of this Christmas music.
It's like Christmas decorations in November. Finish one holiday before starting the next, PLEASE! Neighbors have had decorations up (including a tree) for two weeks already. It all makes Christmas so much less special and important.
I truly understand. In high school, right after the football season, it was time to prepare for the Christmas concert (it was the 80's, we could still call it that). Of course, there was choir and the church's youth choir too.
I'm lucky this year with no Christmas music at work. It's even worse when they play it directly after halloween! Some places didn't even wait for the body to get cold and started stocking the shelves with the Christmas crud before Halloween.
I remember working at the book store and it was all that they played because we were located in the mall. Piped in music just kills me! The worst of it all was it was all the sappy songs that would make you want to down your eggnog with a rat poison twist.
You'd think with all the Christmas music playing people would have a better look on their faces?
