Today at work, Screaming Amy was reacting to several different projects that have been created to try to clean up and add to the information stored for our clients. In the past we had never had time to get more that the bare minimum of information, being very busy and really, more concerned about making money than being accurate.

Now in the lean times, and after our tumultuous conversion, and the merger with our sister company, we can finally add to and clean up the information. Our new system requires a lot more, and so does the PATRIOT act, passed a couple of years ago.

One project that Amy's involved with is all about contacting clients and streamlining the way they submit contributions to their retirement plans. We allowed people to send them in any old way, and we have an extremely inefficient way of doing business. Everything is all about saving money and being accurate when efficiently possible.

Amy, fed up with the craziness shouted, "We wouldn't be in this mess if we weren't such investment sluts!"

The rest of the attendees gasped, but I just laughed. Amy sure can tell the truth.

On another note, Hans, king of free movie preview passes, had a pass for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, starring Russell Crowe.

1. If this was a History Channel documentary about life on a British Naval Ship during the Napoleonic Era, then it's pretty good. There's a lot to look at and learn.

2. If you're looking for a story, keep looking.

3. Characters? Well, let's put it this way, during a storm , a man goes overboard and they have to leave him behind. The crew is mourning his loss, and the audience is going, "who was that?" The sad thing is that almost any of the characters could be lost and everyone would feel exactly the same way.

4. The cinematography is pretty dang good, but the direction is a little off. In battle, you can't always tell where you, or the characters are supposed to be. It gets confusing.

5. For you fans, Crowe keeps his clothes on.

6. It's not that it's bad, it's just a rental.

Gosh, it sounds just like a BDSM/uniform-fetish porno flick. . .

I've heard it said the british navy was about "rum, sodomy, and the lash" . . .

but you say they keep their clothes ON? pfft. harumph.

Stoopid misleading movie titles. . .

Yeah, I kept waiting for the inevitable hint that someone had some sort of physical need, sometime...but it never happened. The closest was a longing look by the captain at the doctor's cello when the doctor was hurt. Hmm, friends with benefits?
