We can be Invincible
Aug. 13th, 2003 09:24 amI won a Pat Benatar album from Larry (
lfkbear) and Cheryl on Sirius OutQ this morning. I easily identified "Invincible" by Ms. Benatar as they were trying a name that tune game. I could have gone on and said, yes, and that was featured in the movie "The Legend of Billie Jean", but that would have been overdoing it. '80s for $100 please, Alex?
Of course I pulled the biggest faux pas you can make calling into a radio show...I left my radio on. The call screener didn't ask me to turn it down, and I had run into the other room to try to be away from the computer that was streaming it. I thought it was OK, but nope, here's the hosts telling me to turn it down, and I had to run, like a fool into the other room to do so. So much for the big OutQ debut. (I've been on radio before, though never nationwide). Still, I have free swag, and you don't!
I booked my flight for Bears in the Woods yesterday. It was cheaper to fly into Chicago than Madison, so I asked John if I could ride with him , and he's said yes (Through the intermediary, Randy, I'll have to call and re-confirm). $168 for practically the same flight I took last month for $305. Off season I guess. This is a good thing. Now we just need to get Chris up there as well!
I also sent in my reservation for Fiesta in January. Ahh, future travel. I started looking for airfare, and man, that's expensive. Hopefully there will be some cheaper rates soon, or maybe I should drive?
Since it was helpful to have my flight information in the journal last time, I'll put it behind a cut...
