Yesterday in my work email inbox I got an email from my Dad. He's so email savvy now...

Alright, that's interesting. This is further training to become an instructor at the Police Acadamy (please, no Steve Guttenburgh jokes). Now Rice University is about 50 miles away from my parent's place. I used to make a commute like that for several years, but Dad hasn't driven in traffic like that in, well, ever.

I'm planning to be out that weekend. I have a doctor's appointment (my doc's in Arlington) and that's both the weekend of the Astros-Rangers series and it could be the opening of Randy's lostncoveplay in Austin...I have to get confirmation of that. Needless to say, I won't be home. He could stay there. I'd be back Monday.

So, my place...OK. I won't have to put away anything, my apartment isn't filled with nudes and odd sculpture,so nothing to worry unless he gets to some of the porn...and if he does that, why? Always with the worst case scenario, right? Deal with it. You came out to the man. He's going to understand that you might have some porn around. Remember when he showed you where his Penthouse mags were when you were 15?

So I sent a message back... I had to be a bit vauge, since sometimes Mom sees Dad's email.

Well, I feel better about having that talk with you now!  I have vacation that weekend, so I will be out of town, so you could have the run of the place then.  I'll be back on Monday, so you might want to secure an air mattress if you want to stay longer.  Sure.

Egg-I just wanted to say that i'm so sorry that the UH band forgot how to treat alumni. The Beas/t was the best band of the coolest brothers and sisters i had ever known and for the group to have to fight to be involved is ridiculus. I'm sorry that we as actives didn't fight harder. I just thought that had to be said!
