Leaving the shadows of the Capitol,
I’ve left you were we started.
Sandalwood and soap and breath,
Stories and knowledge shared.
Whispered words gave way to actions,
But cannot last forever.
Time passes, quicker than we want,
Fatigue sets in.
Things were done, but nothing was accomplished,
Or perhaps it was the other way?
The miles roll on, the distance gains,
Still the friendship grows.
