Today marks the 3rd anniversary of this Journal.

I guess I celebrated by going out to several car lots to see what they had. Sunday is the best day to go, since Texas still holds onto one Blue Law, and the dealerships are closed. I still have some thinking and some research to do on this.

I also had my usual Sunday dinner with my paerents. They wanted to go to Red Lobster. I don't know what it is, but it seems like it's all fried foods. It's not like I don't eat a lot of fried foods, but something about Red Lobster's variety just makes my stomach turn later in the evening...oh say about now.

Still i think about all of the connections and friendships I've made due to this forum. I'm very greatful for them. I would have much rather been with some of you folks this weekend, but that's the way it goes.

You all entertain me, and I hope that I've entertained, enlightened or at least given you something to argue about sometime. It's a journal and a chance to write better, where sometimes it's a crap shoot. Occasionally my satire doesn't work, or my thought wanders where I could have been more consice. It's still an experament, isn't it? Just like everyday life. you never know wheather your going to get it right or wrong.

Thanks for writing, thanks for reading. Send pepto and naked pics, OK?

Utah's dealerships are closed too. But, apparently it's because our largest car mogul happens to be a good LDS man and made sure that other car dealerships (several of which are now owned by larger chains or non-LDS people) could not be open Sundays.

Utah also has a state law banning banking on Sundays.

Those laws can suck. One nice thing about New York city is that the chinatown brances of the big banks are open Sundays.

Yeah, most of the Blue Laws here were resinded in 1987, but the car dealers and liquor stores were grandfathered in. I understand the liquor stores in the god-fearing kind of way, but I don't get the car dealerships.

happy anniversary - may you have many more years of memes, anguish, drama, and the occasional great post :) Just remember to write for yourself first. Everything else is just an added bonus.

Red Lobster $14.99 all you can eat shrimp = fatty fried goodness.

Hm.. I'm gonna have to think about the naked pics. Not sure how well they'd be received.... hmm... ;)

That reminds me... It sounds like I started my journal a month and a half after yours. You were one of the first on my friends list and I've really enjoyed reading your thoughts, experiences and observing the changes in your life. Thanks.

As for naked pics, that's something you really do not want to see!

Happy LJ anniversary.

Sunday is a good day to go car shopping, I agree. But the law in Texas is that car dealerships can only be open one day on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. I think the good christian dealerships take Sunday off.

Yes, you're right, they do have the choice of one day or the other, but I think they all choose Sunday because they don't want to be closed on Saturday when their competitors are open, and I don't think any of their owners are Jewish. I guess it just works better that way.

It's still a legacy of the old Blue Laws, which changed just before I went to work in retail, which unfortunately meant I didn't get paid extra for working Sundays like the older workers did.
