Tonight was the last night for "TV Night" at Matty's (

TV Night was on Sundays, but moved to Wednesdays for the last couple of weeks as Matty goes out of town on business, to find a new apartment, and to get in some last minute Bear Pride whoring before he goes off to Los Angeles.
Because TV Night was on Sundays, I rarely got to go until I finally moved here, since I'd always be driving home on Sunday Nights. Still, it's always been a good time, where it's just the regular gang, or we're getting used to someone Matty picked up somewhere and brought in for the evening/weekend/whatever.
Matty was one of the first guys I met when I finally decided to stop moping in my own little closet and start taking my place in this crazy, gay-bear world. Ever since meeting him, it seems like the number of acquaintances, and later friends grew and grew. Matty seems to know just about everyone. I remember just a few weeks after meeting him, going to a brunch event where there were twenty or so guys (and

I even remember helping Matty move from one apartment to another in his complex, once his roomate was kicked out. Of course, the more memorable time was being sort-of trapped with Matty and Kenny (

Many people have said that Matty is the Julie (of the Love Boat) of Dallas, and in many ways it's true. although Matty sometimes hated it, it was his ability to get people here, get them coordinated, and make shit happen that really made this a great place to be. I'm not sure who's going to be able to do that when he's gone.
So I've seen several episodes of Lost, America's Next Top Model, Battlestar Galactica, Project Runway, and a few other shows at Matty's apartment. Sometimes it's just more fun watching with friends, other times it's the only way to get through some shows.
I know that Chris and I would like to continue TV Night, perhaps in the fall when the shows come back on, as there's only a new season of Project Runway this summer, that I know of. we'll have to see, but it would be nice to have a time to see friends every week, like there has been. Still, we promise a rambunctious dog, rather than Loki, Matt's rather anti-social cat.
So Matty packs up and leaves next week, and I'm sure it will be some time before we see him back in Dallas again, which will surely be sad, but I definitely have many friends that he leaves in his wake, and the remembrance of good times.
