Not a Bad Delimma to Have

Well, it's certainly exciting to be asked by Chris' (
f__k) parents to go with them to spend Thanksgiving in Vegas. I've never been there, and while it doesn't exactly top my list of places to go, I guess I'm one to say that everyone should go there once, or so, right?
Yes, that goes for those that think that gambling is evil, and that the city is the new Gemorrah. They certainly should be forced to go, and I bet a good bit of them, after they yelled their asses off, would eventually be caught at a slot machine at four am.
I guess the one thing that makes me hesitate on accepting is my own family. It's not that I haven't missed a major holiday (thanks Hawaii's Aloha Bowl, Christmas 1988), nor is it the fact that my parents do something special for Thanksgiving. Have I told you about the great microwave meals of my mother? I guess it's just the fact of leaving them alone, since my sister won't be there. She'll be in Dallas with her fiancées parents.
I'm also a little hesitant to take a big gift from Chris' parents...it's quite a bit, and I'd feel indebted.
I was planning to be in Dallas as well, but after having lunch with my parents, then driving. Now I'll have to ask Mom and Dad if I can move Thanksgiving with them to another weekend, and I'll run off to the overdone city in the desert. I guess that the willingness to go somewhere new could trump the other concerns.
Viva Las Vegas?
