Hop On Pop
Sep. 12th, 2004 06:29 pmWell, the weekend is winding down, and I'm about to run off to the parents house for a free dinner. Of course the 50 mile drive kind of keeps it from be really free. It's a combo between duty and good relations.
They opened a Culver's in the Woodlands...I wonder if the folks want butterburgers and frozen custard?
It's been a tiring weekend with the cubbies, Robert and Dave coming over. We ran out last night having dinner with their friend Andrew and my friend Davey (the one I had the one, ever date with a guy last year). It's funny, a few weeks ago Davey and Andrew met because I was at the Ripcord to meet the cubbies who brought Andrew along. i saw Davey there and introduced them all. Now Davey and Andrew are going out. I've created a match!
We all had dinner and good conversation, and then we went out to the Ripcord where I saw Kip (
scarabbear), who seemed to have had a very good time at convergence the week before. I also met a couple of new folks. Davey and Andrew shuffled of to home after a bit. Ahh, young love.
I would have gotten more sleep, but a queen bed is a little small, and eventually I was kicked out and ended up on the couch.
We went out to BW3's today, because I was raving about it to the cubbies, but with the loud football games, the lack of trivia, and the ineptness of the waitress known as "Sunshine", it didn't go so well. Sunshine's tip wasn't so great, either.
I said goodbye as the cubbies went off back to their classes at Texas A&M. Youngsters, full of energy. makes me feel like an old poppa bear.
I'm so looking forward to getting through this week, as short as it is, and getting to Austin for Austin City Limits Music Fest! And thanks to Kip, I get to try out a Utilikilt while I'm there! Bears and cubs, look out!
