Where the Green Grass Grows
Mar. 9th, 2004 08:55 pmI love the fact that people don't care about the voting primary because the presidential race has already been picked. please folks, there's idiots at every level, OK?
Alright,
I drafted my fantasy baseball team at work. I got some good players, but I'm lacking a little power in the lineup, something I hope to rectify when the draft for the Live Journal Bears Fantasy League drafts next week. Some of the guys at work couldn't wait, and now almost all of us have someone dealing with an injury, that we might have avoided if we had waited. Those are the breaks.
Speaking of the LJ Bears league, I still see that the 12th spot hasn't been taken yet. Let me know if you want to get in...I'm not sure if Owen's (
murphy) friend Todd was going to join us or not. Tom (
invisiblebear) and I will be finalizing plans for the on-line draft pretty soon.
I know that the Yahoo page has a little message system built in, but hey, why not spread some of the love over to LJ? I created a community (
bear_baseball) that we can all join and spread the rivalries there. Not everyone in the league is on my "friends" list, so if the rest of you guys could pass this around, I'd be grateful. It's all in good fun.
The Astros seem to be poised for a pretty good year. I'll see if I can catch a few more games this year than I did last, but I'll tell you, I'm not that thrilled about seeing Roger Clemens or Andy Pettite. Sure their great pitchers, but I don't think they'll be that much fun. Th best thing will be that many of the National league guys haven't seen them, but players move around so much these days, there isn't the difference.
Still, It will be interesting to see Rogers' first time at-bat in years. No Designated Hitter out there to save you, buddy. Watch where those balls hit.
I think the Astros and Cubs will be the strong teams in the National League Central, with the Phillies and Marlins also looking strong. In the American League The best are in the east, Yankees, Red Sox, and the Blue jays could be good too. Anaheim should do well and the Twins should win the weakest division in the majors.
I'm so ready for the season to start!
