Spring and My Foot Has Sprung
Mar. 7th, 2004 03:57 pmUgh. The fitness bug hit me this weekend, and while that sounds all good, after a 3+ mile walk in Memorial Park yesterday, playing with new tunes in my iPod, I have done something to screw up my foot.
I guess I hit something, or stretched a muscle in my foot that's really hurting me to walk on it. I can barely hobble around the house. I noticed it was hurting a bit yesterday when I went to the Galleria after my long walk. Then it hurt more when I got home and was trying to climb the stairs. I guess it just got worse after sitting on the couch and now after a night's sleep...OUCH!
I'm guessing I had better get a new pair of sneakers if I'm going to do that again. Still, the park was really beautiful yesterday. the sun was shining, as it is today, and it's about 75 degrees. It's a marked difference from last week's grey skies and rain. These are the best 3 weeks or so to live in Houston, right between the monsoon season and the inferno. Plus the blue bonnets are starting to come up on the roadways, and the countryside is coated in blue.
I shopped yesterday for a new phone, and didn't like the choices Verizon had - plus each one was priced about $100 above the amount you get credited for signing a new contract. please, I don't need the camera phone or the instant messaging. I'll have to see what they have on line.
I went to see if the Apple Store had replacement headphones for my iPod, but since it's one of the original 5Gs from 2 and a half years ago, they don't have any. I'll have to run by Target and get some. Still, the cute cubby guy, John is working at the Apple Store, so it was worth going by. If I only knew how to signal to him that I'm completely horny and want to take him behind the store and have my way with him...Damn. I just can't bring myself to come on to a guy working in the mall. Maybe I should stalk him when he goes to the food court one day.
I'm doing two weeks worth of laundry today, and sat back and watched Victor/Victoria on TV. It's been years since I had seen it. I remember how much I secretly lusted after Alex Karras after seeing him in that (John Reys-Davies is also in it). When his bodyguard character comes out to the mobster it's so sweet. I knew at the time I could never do something like that. Alex went down a notch or two when he became Webster's dad on TV, but still, I great football player.
I'm going to go fold some more laundry and read some comics.
