Icon: The Early Years
Mar. 5th, 2004 08:34 amI see that several people are doing that flashback thing. So what was going on one year ago?
I had just got my new computer, my iMac, and I was asking for names for it. My old computer had been named "Channel Z" after the B-52's song. Strangely enough, the new iMac still doesn't have a name.
Also I was dealing with a very stressful situation at work. We had just changed systems and the work was building, building building. It took us months to get out of our backlogged situation. Today it's a lot less stressful, but we still find problem after problem with our system. The latest is that a web product has been giving out the wrong fee amounts to our customers. that's always a good thing. We are going clean everyday, of course, we have to, the SEC changed the rules on us this year. If we had had the same rule last year, we would have been fined and dealing with the courts.

kennydoug71, davomatic, jamesbeary, woofytexan, cristalskye, knepbear, dedagda and usmcbear for the first time. It was the largest group of gay men I had ever been with, and though I was nervous, I was really happy to be there. mattycub has set up the brunch, and it really meant a lot to me that i was able to attend. It was an exciting time.
Of course, that weekend was the weekend that things started cooking between me and Chris (oakleycub). How silly I was at that time.
Then of course, there was this post, the whole start of the Bear Icon thing. Who knew that one late night comment about my fears about going to TBRU for the first time would bring on such a crazy nickname.
Of course now I'm getting prepared to go to my second TBRU - and I'm not even sure I need to pay for the event, as a lot of my friends will be circling the area without registering. I'm actually much more worried about having to help Chris plan his TBRU party, which I think will be Saturday, March 27th. Chris will likely be working that day, so I'll have to coordinate a lot of things, including getting several of these guys to North Dallas. I'll take care of it.
