From there to here

First post from the new place.

All of my stuff is in the new place now, and I have to drop off the keys to the old place in a couple of minutes. It was an incredibly busy weekend, and Chris oakleycub was incredibly helpful in helping me move my stuff , and set up all of my electronics!

I still have boxes all around, and I'm really busy at work, trying to finish up the quarter end reports, especially since I fly out on Thursday to Wisconsin. I heard it's going to snow - now I have to figure out what to pack. I'm guessing that the cabin is heated, but geez, I don't do cold weather very well. It's just October, isn't it?

Well, there's stories from the weekend that I need to share, but I don't have time right now. I'll try to get them in before I leave Thursday. One problem at work yesterday is that one of the guys in the department died on Friday as he was doing a physical fitness test for the Texas Department of Public Safety (the roadside cops). He was only 30 and seemed to be in good shape.

I was out on Friday, and while he wasn't on my team. However, his girlfriend, Esther, is. She got the call late in the day that he had passed away, and Greg smartly sent her home and told her to stay out for the next several day. The problem is I didn't get a call. something happens on my team and no one checks in with me? Geez. Monday morning Greg comes over and tells me. I agreed with his decision, but come on, please keep me informed.

As for the move, it's a bitch moving from the second floor, downstairs, across the street, and up three flights. My calves are now in incredible shape, and are finally starting to relax after all of that climbing. Otherwise, today I spent 15 minutes looking for my belt so I could finish dressing. I guess things will return to normal in a few weeks...
