Back to that work crap
Mar. 25th, 2003 09:13 amWell, I've had another resignation yesterday. Paul, who with Sandee will be playing Fantasy Baseball from another office. This officially qualifies as a big shakeup. I now get to satrt looking for people, internally, to replace those who are leaving. I get to choose 4, higher management said so. I have to interview them and everything. I have until the end of April to fill the spots - which still won't replace everyone who's left.
Otherwise, I actually have to put on a tie today. I have the first two of four presentations to do, showing off our new online applications to the marketing department. Yes, the product designed to reduce the need for headcount. We're already getting many calls for this product...maybe I won't need those 4 people.
Our office went business casual with Y2K. At that time, we were growing, business casual was a ploy to try to retain and attract associates. Now, 3 years later, they can't go back. There's been several different tries to re-align the dress code by HR, but still, we can look pretty slobish. If you've ever seen me in dockers and a button up shirt, that's what I look like at work.
Remember, no open toed shoes, and wear proper undergarments.
I'm doing two of the presentations tomorrow, and since most of my dress clothes are at my parent's house...I may have to go get a tie, or go shopping tonight.
Lately, I really haven't paid too much attention to whether a shirt really fits around my belly or not (a source of much concern in the past). So the buttons look like they're having a rough day?
So am I.
