On the King Ranch

I'm headed to Kingsville, TX tonight. It's not the Valley, it's not the shoreline, it's just South Texas.

The reason? I'll be giving a speech tomorrow at the Southeast Texas Area Workshop for Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. Yep, I'll be giving my wisdom over the topic of "Chapter Relations". this from the guy, who when president of his chapter had a large feud with the sister sorority. (I am an honorary of the sorority, so I guess they got over it. Yep, I'm a Brother and a Sister - I go both ways)

So I'll be pulling from my workplace some workshops I've done about change, including using the tenants of "Who Moved My Cheese?" It's a decent philosophy, but stupid that such a thin book sells for $20. I will also be doing an exercise in change that involves blindfolds! What fraternity event wouldn't be complete without blindfolds?

I'm going to finish writing it in the car - since I for once am not driving. Thanks for laptops!

Otherwise, Kingsville's pretty out of the way. I don't know what I'll do there otherwise. There's brothers who are taking care of me, including Toni. She's a transfer from my chapter. I know I will be sleeping in my new Eddie Bauer sleeping bag from Tar-Gay. I'll probably be rather cranky tomorrow. There is rumor of an after-party that is not Frat supported (read: lots of drinking, a fraternity forbidden activity). I'll see how I handle that.

I'd be nice if we could get to Padre Island...
