eggwards: (Green Xmas)
Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] marinebear!

Also, in a fit of houscleaning I must say hello to [livejournal.com profile] usmarinejock, [livejournal.com profile] hanover, [livejournal.com profile] mooch, [livejournal.com profile] oxehunden, [livejournal.com profile] hawthornecub, [livejournal.com profile] joelbear, and [livejournal.com profile] mrh745i. Merry Christmas to you and all of the other livejournal friends!

Last night was nice, dropping by Matt and Lisa's for their Christmas Eve. They got me a bonsi tree - I have no IDEA how to take care of this thing. This thing has a host of instructions and something about soaking it (in Palmolive? "Dishwashing Soap?" "You're soaking in IT!"). Look, I've killed innocent airferns before - this thing has no chance in hell! This is why I have the ceramic Christmas tree.

Actually, it's interesting to have this tree in my house. It was a gift, painted by me when I was in Jr. High for my grandmother. It has lights and little ceramic presents under it. It had been in her house for years, and now since she's gone, it came back into my possesion. I guess I never considered having it.

Well, I'm off to the folks for Christmas dinner. I finally did find something for my mother, getting her Sean Hannity's book. Get her anything by conservative talk show host and she'll be fine. She needs somethings to help build her opinions. I hope my dad likes the frame for the photograph of his parents.

I'm sure my gift will be $$$. Mom and Dad don't put a lot of effort into the hoildays anymore. If they really want to get me what I want, they need to get me the one on the left - (This would have been where the picture of Sean Astin should have been! Would someone please tell me how to get a picture on this damn thing!)

(Ed and Laura, if you're reading this, Merry Christmas to you too! say hi to the Burgesses!)

Merry Christmas, All!

I am now $150 richer and full. I worked to help Dad with his internet connection and some programs with his (ugh,) PeeCee. I'm just dangerous enough with XP to get it to do some tricks my Dad hadn't thought of. Real Player trying to hog it's way over every media type was getting annoying.

One day, I'll convince him to buy a Mac, too. It's a cult. Come drink the Kool-Aid!

So my Dad had to go to work tonight, leaving me with Mom. Despite the Trading Spaces marathon (thanks TLC), I couldn't deal with her tonight. She took the Xmas spirit right out of me! I decided to go, and take my chances with the Movie Theater crowd. I still haven't seen The Two Towers. And now, I still haven't. Shows were sold out at every theater I tried. Their box-office should be phenomenal.

Instead, I played Christmas night "What's Open?"

Walgreens - open
McDonald's - closed
Ihop and Denny's - open
Middle eastern restaurant -closed
Jack-In-The-Box - drive thru open
Wal-Mart - closed until 5am
Whataburger - opening at midnight
Starbucks - open and really, really crowded.

Needless to say, I've sipped down a Peppermint Hot Chocolate and went to look at Christmas lights in River Oaks.

Work tomorrow. the next 8 weeks are going to be the most hectic that I've had at AIM Investments.
