Were we've seemed to go a few times...
Dec. 18th, 2002 12:32 amHey, big welcome to
bullbear82,
houstongwm,
lostncove,
phoenyxstarr and
urso!
Went out to see the new Star Trek pic, and I really do feel it's the end of the line for a while. The main storylines seemed to be good for a regular episode, but not so much of a movie. The effects were good, but it left the movie a little cold. They've seemed to figure out that with CGI, they can tear up the Enterprise as much as they want now. Still, I enjoy the Next Gen cast, but I don't think we'll see them again. The 18 million dollar opening may not be enough to make the deal worth it for another movie outing.
Producer Rick Berman really needs to leave. It's not so much that he lacks Roddenberry's vision - I actually applaud some of the growth and the more dramatic elements that he and others have put into Trek the last few years, but there's just too much Trek. Since 1980 we've had ten movies, and almost 500 episodes of Trek (not to mention books, comics and conventions)
When the Next Gen came on the air, Trek had been off the air for 15 years. There had been a couple of movies that were well received (especially the Wrath of Kahn). Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Think about it. Let Enterprise have its run, then hold off of any new series. Don't run this into the ground (if it hasn't happened already).

Otherwise, looks like the apartment below me is getting a resident. I guess I'll have to stop dancing around and jumping up and down on the floor. This puts people on all four sides of me. The only good that could come of it is that it keeps the heating bill down.
I hope that I'm better about stomping around than is the Canadian Guy above me. He still comes in around 11 p.m. and practices his Frankenstien walk all over my ceiling.
Shhh!
