It looks like the rain has finally started to go away. We were having all sorts of flooding problems.

Since Chris ([livejournal.com profile] oakleycub) has made mention of it, and since it's his house, I guess it's safe to announce this. We may have a bit more food than Chris, my sister Laura and I can eat (oh, and maybe Kenny, we'll see) so if you're in Dallas, let us know, and and you can join us for Thanksgiving. Chris is cooking some pies and such, and we've got a cajun turkey.

I'd like to cook, and I'll make something, but since my specialties have "Helper", "and Cheese" and "a-Roni" in them kind of limits my expertise, but we'll give it a go. I'm not sure when we'll eat, but it's likely late afternoon, or early evening.

Otherwise, some leftover news from Sunday night, I wore my Fiesta de Los Osos shirt again, and got the opportunity to explain it to Mom. She had the look on her face of someone politely taking in the information, but in that southern way of not telling you weather she approved or disapproved that you were talking her that your shirt has a pink triangle on it.

It's another instance of wanting to stay behind to know what my parents say afterwards, since I explained to Mom what bears were too. Knowing her mouth, she probably told Dad, it's just the wonder if Dad listened, since he usually tunes her out. Dad's still trying to stay away from most of the talk, though I was surprised when he asked if Chris would be interested in moving to Houston. Parents surprise you.

Last night I went out with Dave from Tennessee for dinner. Yep, another Dave. This is the Dave from Halloween at the Ripcord who was in the fiber-optic jumpsuit that turned red when I kissed him. I've nicknamed him Stephen Speilburg, since he reminds me of him when he wears a hat. We had dinner and went for Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Lattes - I'm so addicted. Dave then worked on helping me with my back troubles a bit. The kinks are working out some.

Lastly, my parents asked me what "blog" meant.

I told them, "it's short for "weblog", and went into the history, especially the developer and scientific use of weblogs, but I'm sure they've heard use of it on political talkshows, not only the impact of them, but than many of them have started their own blogs. Dad is more web-savvy, and I know he does read a few things on-line. It may be a matter of time.

Mom? Dad? Is this thing on?

Haha, I remember when I told my mom about bears... It wasn't long after I came out to them, and I had ordered the Bear Handbook from amazon, and she asked when I opened the package. I could actually see her eyes glaze over, it was great. :p

Dave Speilburg was pretty cute, especially in that neat jumpsuit. And that's what they're calling it these days.. "helping me with my back troubles." Uh huh, suuure. ;p

Well I will be in Dallas I think on Thursday visiting an ex-bf of mine for the day. He works at the Crate and Barrel store up there.

And oh, those peppermint lattes. I've not had one yet, but am itching to get one soon.
