Someone's Got My Number
Mar. 8th, 2004 08:35 amThe world seems to know when things are going to happen. There's some spirit in the air that's saying, "Hey, Michael's going to see his boyfriend later in the week." They also seem to know that it's been a few weeks and Michael's a little, well, pent up you know.
It seemed strange that I used to be able to go for months, even years, but you start getting some on a more regular basis, and then all hell breaks loose.
So sad I have to do taxes tonight.
But, back to the story. So I'm out with the parents last night at Chili's. We're seated and out bounds a cute cubby guy and as he's taking our orders, he keeps looking at me. Of course I notice this because I KEEP LOOKING AT HIM.
This is where I keep kicking myself that I'm such a bad flirt. I think a part of it is that I can't flirt for fun, I think I always flirt with bad intent. Therefore, I'm probably damn creepy. I'm thinking John at the Apple Store thinks this.
So I keep on, wondering if the parents are getting this. I look at them a little...dad seems gruff, as usual. Mom, who's been awfly interested in my life, lately, seems clueless. Well, if they are noticing, they aren't saying.
So, Ryan, the waiter, is finishing up with us and mentions that he's about to get off his shift...why am I with my parents?! (interrobang) Did he really mean to tell me that? My imagination goes into overdrive. I actually paid the check, which i do occasionally, and it seemed a little light, like he didn't charge us for drinks or something. Hooray! So like a fool, I left my phone number on the check.
This is the point were I say, I think I read too much into that. I probaly also should have left my email, rather than the phone number. Oh well, I'm learning.
Chris, you better watch out. You're boyfriend's on his way this week. Unless the spirits have anything to do with it.

flirting - i'm confused
Date: 2004-03-08 04:04 pm (UTC)If you were to flirt with me to express your interest in a sexual nature, that would be good. But, if you were just flirting with me to be cute and then walk away, this would be bad.
Leaving your phone number is awesome!

Re: flirting - i'm confused
Date: 2004-03-09 05:18 am (UTC)It's the fact that I want to go all the way, not just flirt to flirt. I guess that's not necessarily bad, but it seems weird that I'm so predatory. i feel let down when it doesn't result in anything.
Since both the Chili's guy and the Apple Store guy were 25 or younger, I'm feeling a little like a dirty old man - though they were of age.
Still, the email would have been better. Or maybe I should get some trick cards made.

Date: 2004-03-09 06:16 pm (UTC)28 is fine, really I've been with younger men, there's just a bit of a gap once you go younger than 25 or so.
