I don't buy a ton of DVD's. I tend to buy things I know I can't catch often on TV, so when I saw that this is coming out today...oh I need this one.

Mork and Mindy Season One.

It's priced well, too. I almost bought the Wonder Woman first season because it was cheap, compared to say, Six Feet Under or Angel Season 4, also out now..

Yes, I was one of those geeks that had the Rainbow Suspenders (yes, yet another sign I totally missed in my past), and I dressed like Mork for Halloween, including a big egg that had candy that I handed out to the neighborhood kids. (Strangely this has nothing to do with my nickname now.) That was what, 1979? Given that I was in a new school, just entering Jr. High, yep, I was labeled a freak.

Did I mention that I found the Mork and Mindy Trading Card set as I was clearing out my room at my parent's old house?

Still, I bought Robin Williams comedy record (mmm, Vinyl) and it was Filthy! My mom never really heard it, which was a good thing. Even with that record, he was already trying to get away from the Mork character. Given that Patch Adams, and a few other roles of his were more of an embarrassment, I think he shouldn't have complained so much about Mork and the weekly moral at the end of the show.

The show just had a special place in my childhood. sure, it's formulaic, and it was totally recycled by Third Rock From the Sun, but it's fun.
