Thankfully, No Lockboxes.

Watching Baseball, listening to the Presidential Debates. As for the debates, ugh, I think they both lost! What was the deal with the moderator? Those questions were terrible. The responses were terrible. That was terrible.

Would someone please give a straight answer to something? Enough with these pat lines trying to make everything some Arnold Schwartzennegger catch-phrase out of everything. There was nothing new learned tonight, and Bush seemed a bit calmer. Kerry seemed to have more to say, but every time he mentioned a "plan" I cringed.

Big losers: The American Public.

If you want to know what the deal with the moderator was...

...Bob Schieffer's family and the Bushes have a lot of overlap (as do most of the Texas monied elite); Schieffer has been a personal friend of GWB's for years, and his brother Tom was a partner with GWB in the Texas Rangers deal. Could that affect one's performance as a moderator?

You thought the questions were terrible? Some were (like the flu vaccine... uh.... what does that have to do with being president???) but some were very good (like Is homosexuality a choice, and Do you want to overturn Roe v. Wade).

I did like the point that Kerry made during the homosexuality question and 'How big of a part does religion play in you life' part that, while he is Catholic (or Catlick as JawnBC says) and tries his best to adhere to the Catholic faith, he will not use it as a basis for his legislation since we are a country of many different religions and values.

Yeah, and when Bush said that Iraqi freedom was a Gift from God, I got the willies.

I think both candidates have started using short "slogans" as their answers because as has been shown with previous debates, the OTHER party will grab anything else and run with it...

Our entire society has become one big sound-byte. If we can't cram the meaning of something into a single sentence, most people won't pay attention.

Personally, I still would've loved to have seen them include Nader in the debates. Let's REALLY mix it up.

In my own humble opinion... this whole election is terrible! I refrain from discussing this to any greater length... but I think that they should make a rule that Kerry cannot use the word "Plan"! LOL

Then it would just become "I have a PROPOSAL!"
